While this post is certainly about buying, I will share how to consume smartly by buying the best products at the lowest prices. I made a huge list of makeup I’ve been wanting to get. This simple list helped me track down some of the best products at prices as low as $2.00. Here’s how I did it: I visited Barnes and Noble to research the best products in Paula Begoun’s Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me. I wrote down the names of the highest rated products and made it my goal to purchase one from each category at a discounted price.
Maybelline New York Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin for $3.50 at Ulta through Maybelline buy one get one half off sale plus $3.50 off $10 coupon. Saved $3.50. (Discontinued, similar)
Maybelline New York Define-A-Brow in Medium Brown for $3.50 at Ulta through Maybelline buy one get one half off sale plus $3.50 off $10 coupon. Saved $3.50
Revlon Colorstay Sheer Lipliner in Blush (615) for $2.00 at Big Lots. Saved $5.00.
If you have Big Lots in your area, this lipliner is definitely a steal! I’ve found it there twice, both times for $2.00. With lipliner, I’ve had to have a “fake it ’til you make it” mentality, which is why I have this lipliner in clear. This is one of the highest rated lipliners on the market and helps maintain lip color throughout the day. There are many other items in the Colorstay line that are highly rated and worth trying.
Almay Line Smoothing Compact Makeup in Naked at Big Lots for $4. Saved $8.00 (discontinued, similar)
My list definitely helped me find the best products at rock bottom prices. Once I made my list, I kept it in my wallet and used it in almost every store I went to that carried makeup. I snagged all these items for under $15.
