One of my most popular posts is on how to wear pants to a wedding, which, unsurprisingly, receives a spike in views every time fall rolls around. With the weather growing cold yet again, a lot of women are wondering if they can wear pants to a wedding. The answer is YES! You can totally wear pants to a wedding. In this post I’ll be sharing a few ways to wear sequined pants to a wedding. Sequined or glittery pants are one way to stand out yet not steal the show.
Bethenny Frankel as Sequined Pants Inspiration
Confession time: I am a huge fan of the Real Housewives on Bravo. In the recent Real Housewives of New York reunion, Bethenny Frankel opted to wear sequined pants instead of the typical evening gown like many other of the cast members wear. I thought we could all learn a thing or two from Bethenny about how to wear pants in a setting that usually calls for a dress.
Though Bethenny’s look does lean a bit more casual, you can definitely dress it up or down depending on the formality of the wedding. You can do this by adding more elegant jewelry or pairing it with a dressier purse.
Look One: Mix Textures
This first look is based on mixing textures. In the example, we have sequins paired with lace. It’s a great way to take the sequined pants, typically seen as a more “edgy” look and pair it with something a bit more feminine like lace. You can mix it up by wearing a sleeveless, short sleeve or long sleeve top.
Look Two: Pair Them With an Open Front Blazer
Pairing gold sequined pants with an open front draped blazer and white t-shirt or blouse is a great way to play on the traditional idea of a pantsuit. I think this pairing makes the idea of a pantsuit more modern and fresh. This is a great option for any level of wedding formality. With this look there’s a ton of different ways to play with the colors of each item. You can ever go monochromatic!
I hope this post helps you think outside the box when it comes to picking out an outfit for an upcoming wedding!
